About Kyrie
Lots of instructors can teach you to turn. Not many can teach you to carve the way Japanese riders do.
Hi, I'm Kyrie. I spend every winter teaching snowboarding in Hakuba, and carving is what I'm known for. It's how I ride, so even on day one, the basics I teach are the ones that'll get you carving later. When you're ready, we go all the way. On Instagram, 21,000 people follow @kyrie.snow for my breakdowns of how the pros carve and my honest take on Hakuba's resorts.

How I teach
Feedback before we meet
Send me a clip of your riding when you book. I'll have worked out what's holding you back before we even meet, so we can skip straight to what matters.
Two systems: CASI and JSBA
I'm certified in both the Canadian and Japanese systems. If one way of explaining something doesn't click, I'll try the other, and I'll always tell you why it works.
First run vs. last run
I film your first and last runs from the same spot, and we watch them back on the lift. Afterwards, you'll get written notes on what to work on next.
The right run for you
I've reviewed all six Hakuba resorts on my channel, so I know exactly which runs suit your level.
Who I learned from
Early on, I made a point of training with riders who were still competing, to get the fundamentals right. Then I sought out riders known for their style. Along the way I've done camps with Japanese coaches and riders including Tsuyoshi, Yuko Nakamoto, Hiroshi Koshi, Hiroyuki Niino, Kaori Ayabe and Shun Yamamoto.
No hard sell
I only recommend gear I actually ride, and if something's sponsored, I'll say so. I'll be straight with you about what's worth buying at your level. Sometimes the answer is nothing at all.
