Snowboard lessons at Iwatake
Hakuba's most fun all-rounder, whether you want an easy day or terrain to play on.

The flat, open greens on the sunny side are great for finding your feet, and the long green run is ideal for mileage. Around the back there's a natural half-pipe, walls and moguls. I usually wait until about 11am, when the snow softens, before heading over.
The summit café and its swing are famous, and Iwatake is also one of the JSBA exam venues. The downside is that there isn't much accommodation or food nearby, so it's worth sharing a rental car.
This is my own take from riding here. Conditions change every season and every day, so on the day I'll pick runs to suit the snow and your level.
